According to Kuo-Ming Chi, the second generation AirPods Pro will feature two more features other than having a new design, and other features.
The first feature will support Apple’s Lossless Audio (ALAC file), making the AirPods Pro the first AirPods to support Lossless Audio. For those who doesn’t know about lossless audio aka ALAC file yet, Lossless audio is basically a type of audio file that takes advantage of data compression algorithms which helps prevent any audio track to lose any detail or asset during compression, delivering the best audio quality. This is basically Stereo Premium.
And the second feature is basically speakers inside the case, likely to integrate with Find My to help make people’s life easier when finding their case. This feature lines up with a previous leak.
Kuo also reiterated that the AirPods Pro 2 will release in the fourth quarter of 2022 (which I agree since AirPods 3 were released last October), likely around September or October, will not have any health monitoring features, and will have a new design.
