Craig Federighi was the Real Star at Yesterday's WWDC

Craig Federighi, dubbed "Hair Force One" by some, is Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering and a long-time presenter in these events. This year, Federighi carried the entire team on his shoulders. After CEO Tim Cook's typical introduction, he gave the steering wheel to our guy Craig, who insisted on keeping it. A guest host would occasionally come, but Federighi's show was the only one that mattered. He's "a mood" and a "daddy" (I mean, who could resist?) in addition to being a handsome guy. I watched the entire two-hour webcast and have no idea who the other speakers were other from Tim Cook.

He even took a second to comb his fingers over his perfect hair during one of his dramatic slow-motion sprints to the rhythm of some emotive ballad. That was probably meant to be a lead-in to an iPadOS upgrade. To segue to a section about monitoring live sports scores on your iPhone's lock screen, he wore a tracksuit and (with the aid of Apple's visual effects team) shot a basketball hundreds of feet into the air.
The highlight for me was when Federighi took a go at Apple's product naming team, implying that they needed a three-month vacation after coming up with "M2" as the successor to Apple's in-house silicon, M1. Craig injected a plethora of cheesy dad jokes into a broadcast that would have been drab otherwise. Apple product debuts have never been very thrilling, but seeing Craig keep the train moving was like watching a great athlete lead a terrible team to victory.
