It is now March and the Spring Apple Event is over, so here is an updated buyers guide for the month of March. Since the last buyers guide, new products have been released so we need to go over those. There will be detailed buyers guides against products soon, these aren't comparing to other products.

New products include:

🟢 - Buy it
🟡 - Caution
🔴 - Do not buy

iPhone

iPhone 13 Mini - 🟢 Last Mini iPhone, being replaced with iPhone 14 Max this fall

iPhone 13 - 🟢 Best option for most people

iPhone 13 Pro - 🟢 Lots of power and possibilities in the regular sized model

iPhone 13 Pro Max - 🟢 Best option if you have money to spend, and you like big phones

iPhone 12 Mini - 🟡 The iPhone 12 Mini is known for battery issues, and the 13 Mini helps fix that.

iPhone 12 - 🟢 Great option for the price today

iPhone 11 - 🟡 Starting to get old, and with new iOS versions its getting buggier

iPhone SE 3 - 🟢 Just updated with the A15 Bionic and 5G, great for average person.

Mac

13” MacBook Air - 🟡 Good buy, but M2 (also redesigned) model coming soon

13” MacBook Pro - 🔴 We are expecting a new version with M2 this month

14” MacBook Pro - 🟢 Perfect for Pro users who want a smaller size

16” MacBook Pro - 🟢 Perfect for Pro “Max” users. Get it? Max? Pro Max? bad joke.

24” iMac - 🟢 Great for most users, has M1 chip and relatively new

27” iMac - 🔴 Redesigned model coming soon (could be iMac Pro) with M1 Pro/M1 Max

Mac Mini - 🟡 New model expected soon with M2/M2 Pro. Still an ok buy.

Mac Pro - 🔴 New model with Apple Silicon coming very soon, no longer the most-powerful Mac

Mac Studio - 🟢 The most powerful Mac yet, just launched with new M1 Ultra chip.

Studio Display - 🟢 Just launched alongside the Mac Studio, great display.

Pro Display XDR - 🟡 We are expecting a successor soon. Mid-cycle

iPad

11” iPad Pro - 🟡 Mid-cycle, still a good buy ~ New model with M2 coming late 2022

12.9” iPad Pro - 🟡 Mid-cycle, still a good buy ~ New model with M2 coming late 2022

10.2” iPad - 🟢 Big screen and battery life while being pretty affordable

8.3” iPad Mini - 🟢 New all-screen design w/ newer specs & 5G

Apple Watch

Apple Watch Series 7 - 🟢 Best option for most people

Apple Watch SE - 🟢 Great if its just for a kid or just a budget smartwatch

Apple Watch Series 3 - 🔴 The worst option, go ahead and get a SE or 7

AirPods/Speakers

AirPods 2 - 🔴 Just go ahead and get the 3rd Generation

AirPods 3 - 🟢 Great sound, recently updated, best option for most users

AirPods Pro - 🟢 Great sound quality, redesign expected in late 2022

HomePod Mini - 🟢 Great smart-speaker, available in many colors

AirPods Max - 🟢 If you have the money, why not? (rich people only)

Other

Apple TV 4K - 🟢 The latest model features a faster A12 Bionic Chip, the new redesigned Siri Remote

Apple TV HD - 🔴 Outdated (released in 2015), so just get the Apple TV 4K. Bad value despite $30 cheaper

iPod Touch - 🔴 No updates to be expected, really outdated, battery life sucks, etc.

AirTag - 🟢 While some people use it to stalk people, when used for its intended purpose its nice.

Apple Polishing Cloth - 🟢 The Apple Polishing Cloth is the best cloth you can get. Apple says it themself: “Made with soft, nonabrasive material, the Polishing Cloth cleans any Apple display, including nano-texture glass, safely and effectively.” The $19 pricetag is definetly worth it. Never underestimate the power of the Apple Polishing Cloth.
