In MacRumors latest podcast episode, one of the most accurate Apple leakers who is Mark Gurman has basically done a leak dump for Apple’s upcoming products which we will talk about right now.
Note: this article only features new and important information. If you want to know entirely what he leak dumped, Watch here.
First off, he talked about the M2 MacBook Pro. Which unfortunately will get the same design as the M1 MacBook Pro but without the function keys. He says it makes sense to fill the gap between the price tag of the MacBook Air and the high end MacBook Pro’s.
Second, third and fourth, he talked about the big-sized iMac, high end Mac mini and the budget Pro Display XDR. He said that the big-sized iMac could be the iMac Pro and the Mac mini will be called Mac mini pro. The iMac Pro will only get up to 64GB RAM and both of the models is to have the same processors as the 2021 MacBook Pros. And he is unsure if the budget display is to have miniLED or not.
For the 24” iMac, it is expected to release in 2023 and no Intel processors. Mark Gurman believes that the next Mac Pro will unfortunately get less modularity or easy upgrading. The next Mac Pro is to be stacked and basically to have holes on the back maybe cheese grater. And in terms of its processors, it may get M1 Max Duo and Quadro aka multiple processors.
For the M2 iPad Pro, he reiterated that it is to have MagSafe charging either macbook version of MagSafe or iPhone version of MagSafe) and a glass back.
Next topic is about the Apple Watch. Which he said that the rugged model will be like the Casio or G shock watches and is going to be a high end model at an expensive price tag. In terms of medical features like Blood pressure sensor, it is expected to release in one to two years, and blood sugar sensor is expected to release later in 2025 or 2026. He also said that Apple has tested temperature sensors but get delayed due to not being as a high priority.
And finally, he also reiterated my belief that it is to be announced in WWDC. Actually released in WWDC. And the AirPods Max is expected to be updated later this year (likely around December) with more color variants.
