For the first time since the devices were introduced in late 2020, Apple began to sell certified refurbished iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro units in the United States today.

Only the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro versions are now available refurbished in the United States, with no iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max variants available. At certain Apple Store locations, a range of colors and storage options are available for delivery or scheduled pickup.

As is typical, refurbished iPhones are reduced by roughly 15% when comparing to new models. For reference, an unlocked iPhone 12 featuring 64GB of storage costs $619 through Apple's refurbished store in the United States, but the same device costs $729 brand new.

All of the refurbished iPhone 12 devices are SIM-free and unlocked. All iPhones include a replacement battery, a new outer shell, and a new white box with all instructions as well as a USB-C to Lightning connector. All refurbished iPhones come with Apple's normal one-year warranty and are eligible for AppleCare+ protection.

Apple claims that its refurbished goods are extensively inspected and cleaned, and they are practically indistinguishable from brand new Apple products.
