Unfortunately, the iPhone 14 will not get 3nm processors :sadge:.

From a report by The Information, TSMC is currently transitioning to their 3nm process. But unfortunately, they are facing problems in doing so. The reason has not been stated yet why TSMC is struggling in transitioning to their 3nm process. But this will cause the delay of manufacturing advancements for three years for the first time in forever…

What’s going to happen? Well, Apple may modify the chips over and over again without shrinking the processors causing to heat up (which is unlikely and would’ve ended up with what happened to Intel) or resort to transitioning to 4nm manufacturing, and competitors will have time to catch up in performance including Intel.

Because of this, it is unlikely to not have 3nm processors to several new apple products that will have it next year but instead will have them in 2024, unless TSMC has fixed the problems in transitioning to 3nm process. Yes the iPhone 14 will be the first to have the 3nm processor because Apple has a VIP treatment from TSMC, LUXURY!
