After the Studio Display was introduced 2 days ago, we could be seeing a Pro version of it.
According to Ross Young, he expects a 27” miniLED display that will have 2x more zones and 7x more LED’s from Apple to release later this year around June of 2022 in WWDC, likely to be a Studio Display Pro, for which production has already begun and a Mac Pro which I now believe should be powered by the M1 Ultra and possibly an Apple Silicon version of Intel Xeon with higher performance than the M1 Ultra.
When asked, he claimed this display could sit between the Studio Display and Pro Display XDR or could be a Pro Display XDR replacement which I mostly agree with this, given the miniLED, which also connects to a report that Apple was working on a 7K display to replace it. This may however replace the 27” Intel iMac as it has been discontinued after the Apple Event. In that case, it should have the same specifications and configurations as the Mac Studio or upcoming Apple Silicon Mac Pro.
Kuo claims that due to budget constraints and low profit in the past few months, the upcoming Mac products could be delayed to next year. However, Ross Young has been very accurate, so this is unlikely.
